Hunksten Proudfoot

"HP" has been a writer of one kind or another all his life, dabbling in short stories, alternative history and poetry. The writing morphed to composing and lyrics, and became integral to the other creative areas of his life. A gardener, a maker, a thinker, a poet... " things must grow from a seed, into plants, or into song" so he says.

His brand of electronica is "Poetronic" - creating sounds and melody by combining an idea or experience with a myriad of electronica based influences to texturize a story through music.

Using both real and synthisized instruments, vocals, and any object in particular that "catches his fancy", mixing melody and tempo with percussives and layers of filtering is a trademark of his current work. Although unashamedly electronic, his Australian origins have given him to be deeply influenced by the sounds of nature, albeit, assimilated and digitized.

Prior to signing to Thirteen | decibel, HP's freely shared back-catalogue has had more than 60,000 downloads worlwide.

His debut  on decibel, "Walk the Earth ( or, the Insane Ramblings of...) Hunksten Proudfoot is an "around the world at light-speed" instrumental journey that takes the listener on an upbeat aural-holiday, inspired by places as far apart as Australia, Europe and the Mid-East.

Hunksten offers here a blending of dischordant melody and tribal rythms. His summer 2007 release will be delving further into electronic poetry. His evolution is one to watch.

Through the Thirteen-family, Hunksten is also working on remixes for Victoria Wilson-James,  "Transcendental Rhthym" and "Change My Life".
